A fuller Privacy Policy: what Trova keeps from Google sign-in, how your data is kept safe, and how to reach us.
Changed1
Trova is the new name for the app, and heytrova.com its new address. Your account and everything in it are the same; sign in once at heytrova.com.
Save from your browser
The Trova extension for Chrome saves articles and YouTube videos to your Saves.
New3
Connect the Trova extension for Chrome once, then save any article or YouTube video from its button. An article keeps its title, site, author, date, image and text; a video its channel, details and transcript with times.
Articles and Videos in Saves, each with its image, a link to the original, and its text to search.
See and disconnect the extension in Settings.
Undo and reports in Chat
Undo what Chat did with your to-dos, report a reply that went wrong, and ask about times and dates more naturally.
New2
Undo beside each change Chat makes to your to-dos: an added one goes, a ticked-off one opens again, an edit goes back as it was. It won’t undo a to-do you’ve changed since.
Report a reply in Chat (⚑ under it): say what was wrong, add a note if you like, and we’ll look at it with that chat.
Improved2
Chat knows the time where you are and the days ahead, so “in two hours”, “tonight” and “next Friday” come out right.
Chat finds your to-dos from part of a word or with a typo, ticks off, cancels or moves several at once, and says so when a to-do you ask for is already on your list.
Your own AI keys in Chat
Chat with models of your choice on your own OpenRouter, Groq, OpenAI or Google Gemini keys.
New1
Add your own AI keys, in Settings or while you set up: OpenRouter, Groq, OpenAI and Google Gemini, one key each. Adding a key loads its models: search them and tick the ones you want, or type a model’s ID. They come first in Chat, Today’s Ask AI and the Telegram bot’s /ask, with each provider’s logo, can work with your to-dos, and run on your own account.
Changed1
Bringing your own storage is no longer offered: your files stay in Trova’s storage.
Simpler to-do views
Changed1
The To-do page has two views: List, for a day’s to-dos, and Calendar, for the month. The Week view is gone; the week strip above the list shows the days around it.
Chat meets your to-dos
Ask Chat about your to-dos, and have it add, move or tick them off for you. To-dos can now have a time, a repeat, a priority and a description, on a redesigned page.
New8
Chat can now work with your to-dos. Ask what’s due or overdue, add a to-do, move one to another day, or tick it off. Each change appears above the reply and links to the to-do. Chat doesn’t delete to-dos, and it still can’t see your notes, journal or saves.
Chat knows when each to-do was added and when it was completed, so you can ask, for example, when you finished something.
Repeating to-dos: set one to come round daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. It shows on its days to come in the calendar straight away. Tick it off and the next one becomes a to-do of its own, with the same time, priority and tags; untick it and that one goes away again.
To-dos can have a description as well as a title: write it under the title as you add one, on the To-do page or Home, or when you open one. Search finds words in it too.
Cancel a to-do you’re no longer doing: it’s kept, struck through, under Cancelled, and you can open it again. Deleted to-dos now go to the bin for 30 days, like notes, saves and chats, so you can restore them.
The Telegram bot does more: /todos lists your to-dos to tick off, cancel or bin; /todo adds one, with its day, time, priority and repeat in plain words (“/todo pay rent friday 6pm !3”); /journal adds to today’s journal or shows it; and /ask puts a question to the AI, which can work with your to-dos too.
Give a to-do a priority of one to five stars, from its row or when you add it; to-dos have none until you do. Higher priorities come first in their day, and Chat can tell you what matters most.
Give a to-do a time as well as a day, when you add or edit it, on Home, or by asking Chat. A day’s to-dos are listed by time, those without one last, and one whose time has passed turns red.
Improved4
A model that can’t reach your to-dos now says so, instead of answering as if it had looked.
A redesigned To-do page. Write a to-do on its own line, then set its day, time, repeat and priority in the row of options below it. Open any to-do to change everything about it in a side panel (a sheet on phones), and see each one’s priority in stars. Home’s capture box has the same options for a new to-do.
Chat keeps its inner workings private, and treats the text of your to-dos and of web pages as information, never as instructions, so it can’t be tricked into changing your to-dos.
Ask Chat to add a to-do and it adds it straight away, then offers to fill in what you left out, such as a time, a priority or a description. Chat can also set and find to-dos by their tags, cancel them, move them to the bin, and restore them from it.
Changed1
Qwen 3.8 27B is no longer offered in Chat, as its free version was withdrawn. Earlier replies from it stay in your chats.
Notes that keep up
The list beside a note now follows your writing, notes have more room, and you can delete your account from Settings.
New1
Delete your account, with everything in it, from Settings.
Improved3
The list of notes beside an open note keeps up as you write: a new note appears in it at once, an edited note moves to the top with its latest words, and the count stays right.
Notes have a wider writing column, and tables are set in the same serif as the rest of your writing.
On phones, the list of notes uses the search and New in the top bar, leaving more room for your notes. Rows of tags fade at the edge when there are more to scroll to.
Changed1
The sections are now in this order: Home, Chat, Notes, Journal, To-do, Saves and Tags.
A redesigned workspace
A new, frosted layout, a capture box for everything on Home, notes beside their list, a reworked To-do day, and a clearer Chat.
New3
Home’s capture box can create a note, a to-do or a journal entry, or ask Chat a question. Each has its own tools: a due date for to-dos; the time, files, voice notes and tags for journal entries; and web search, the thinking level and the model for questions.
Photos and videos keep when and where they were taken and the camera, for features to come. Settings has a Photo locations switch to stop keeping where.
Take a photo or a video for the journal without leaving the page: a camera window, full screen on a phone with a switch between the front and back cameras, and the webcam on a computer. Videos record at full quality, up to about half a minute.
Improved13
On wider screens, notes open beside their list, with the open note highlighted, so you can move between notes without going back. Searching the list keeps the open note in place.
The To-do day view adds a week strip with a dot for each to-do, groups its sections into cards and shows each to-do’s date beside it. The day’s progress, a calendar for the month and your tags appear alongside.
A frosted look for the top bar, the sidebar, the phone’s dock and Home’s capture box, and a redesigned changelog, Terms and Privacy Policy.
Redesigned sign-in, sign-up and password reset pages: the form on glass beside a short, moving look at the app (a search, what a trove holds, or Home’s capture box). Setting up a new trove has the same look, with its steps listed beside each one.
Saves, Notes, Settings, Home, Search, the Bin and the Ctrl K box in the same glass, with every menu, dialog and date picker frosted over the page, and the open note lit like the section you’re on.
Journal, To-do, Tags and Chat in the same glass: softly lit cards, frosted boxes, bars and menus, and Day, Week and Month as a segmented control. Tags show their counts by kind, and a week’s to-dos no longer break mid-word. The journal fits the screen on a computer, with only its entries scrolling, and on a phone the day’s title opens a date picker, with the box, then the newest entries, first.
Audio in the journal plays on bars, which show the recording’s real waveform once it’s played, and videos in a cleaner player of their own, each with a click to jump anywhere in it.
Photos and audio you add to the journal are made smaller before they upload: photos become WebP (up to 1920 px), audio becomes AAC. iPhone HEIC photos and TIFFs now work in every browser.
Videos you add to the journal are made smaller before they upload, as MP4 (H.264) that plays on every browser and phone: up to 1080p and 30 frames a second. iPhone videos (.mov) now work, and a video can be up to 20 MB once converted: about half a minute at full quality, longer at a little less.
iPhone videos can be added from Firefox and from computers that can’t play HEVC, with a decoder loaded only when it’s needed.
Chat shows each step as an answer is prepared: the web search, the sources being read, and the model’s thinking as it happens, with a timer.
An answer’s details (ⓘ) now show the model and its maker, the thinking level, the number of sources, and its tokens and timing.
Your questions in Chat appear in your own serif type. If a model doesn’t answer, you can try again or switch to another model from the message. On phones, the model and thinking menus open as sheets.
Fixed2
Audio files and voice notes can be added from Firefox on Android, up to 5 minutes each.
Videos added from Firefox keep their true colours and play in every browser.
Changed3
A new layout. Sections sit in a slim rail on the left, with search and a New menu (note, to-do, journal entry or chat) in one bar across the top. On phones, a dock at the foot of the screen holds every section, and New sits in the top bar.
Today is now Home, with a house icon. It shows the date and time above the greeting, and to-dos are added from the capture box, which replaces its separate to-do box.
Completed to-dos are now marked in green.
Chat
Ask questions of leading AI models, with optional web search, without leaving Trova.
New7
Chat: ask a question and see the answer as it’s written. Choose from ten models by Google, DeepSeek, Xiaomi, Alibaba, Inception, NVIDIA, Mistral and Cohere, each listed with its maker and size. Chat doesn’t read your notes, journal or saves.
Thinking levels (Low, Medium and High) for models that reason. A model’s thinking can be opened above its answer, with how long it took.
Web search: turn on Search to ground an answer in current results from the web, with its sources listed beneath it.
Formatted answers, with maths, syntax-highlighted code with a copy button, tables and quotes.
Edit your last question, regenerate an answer, branch a conversation from any answer, have an answer read aloud, or save it as a note.
Past chats are grouped by date, and can be searched, renamed, pinned and exported as Markdown. Deleted chats stay in the Bin for 30 days.
Focus mode for chats (Ctrl \), and a chat list that folds away.
Improved1
Confirmations, such as moving something to the Bin, now appear in the app’s own dialog instead of the browser’s.
Planning views, a redesigned Today, and journal improvements
To-dos gain day, week and month views, Today brings the whole day together, and journal entries keep accurate times.
New6
Day, Week and Month views for to-dos. The To-do page now opens on today, with overdue, due, undated and completed items in one place.
Reschedule a to-do by clicking its due date. In the Week view, each day has its own field for adding to-dos.
Completed to-dos show the date and time they were completed.
A redesigned Today page: your to-dos and recently edited notes, alongside the past week of your journal, your writing streak, and an entry from the same day a week, a month or a year ago.
A context menu in the note editor, with clipboard actions, text formatting, link options and block actions. Shift+right-click opens the browser’s menu.
Journal entries added to a past day now require a time, set with a new time picker. An entry’s time can also be changed when editing it.
Improved3
Voice recording shows a live waveform, and recordings can be reviewed on a waveform player before they’re added.
Files attached to a journal entry are shown as tiles, with thumbnails and upload progress.
The status of AI transcription and image analysis updates automatically when processing completes.
Fixed3
Recorded voice notes now show their duration and support seeking.
Journal attachments larger than 1 MB failed to upload. Files of up to 10 MB are now supported.
The Turn into option in the note editor’s selection menu now opens its menu.
Changed2
New to-dos are due on the day being viewed. A different date, or no date, can still be chosen.
The Day view replaces the to-do list view. Completed to-dos remain on their due date.
Today, Journal, To-dos and Tags
Trova is reorganised around your day, with one search across everything you keep.
New6
Today, a new home view: capture a quick note, then see today’s journal entries and to-dos, recently edited notes and your latest saves.
Journal: entries by day with their times, a calendar and a writing streak. Entries can include photos, audio, video and voice notes recorded in the browser. With AI enabled, voice notes are transcribed and photos are described.
To-dos with due dates, set with a custom date picker.
Tags across notes, journal entries, to-dos and saves. Add them inline as #tags or as chips, and rename, merge or delete them from the Tags page.
Universal search with Ctrl K across notes, journal entries, to-dos and saves, with quick commands. Filters include n:, j:, t:, s:, #tag, date ranges and is:done.
Keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Press ? to see them all.
Improved2
A more compact notes list, grouped by date, with sorting and pinned notes.
Notes gain a focus mode, an outline of their headings, and Markdown copy and download.
Changed1
Journal entries are left out of general search results unless requested with j: or a tag, or enabled in Settings.
